There are a few vegan Chinese restaurants sprinkled around Brooklyn, and many of them seem to have the exact same menu. At first glance Amituofo seems like one of them, but a closer look reveals more. Having just visited Yun hai Shop I was in a Taiwanese state of mind, so I ordered the crispy pork chop over fried rice. The “pork chop” was a fried block of wheat gluten, on top of fragrant fried rice. All it wanted was some green vegetables, which I added when I reheated the leftovers later.
