Portobello Reuben at Northeast Kingdom

Last week I trekked out to Bushwick to check out Northeast Kingdom, which has been on my go-to list for a while. I normally don’t care for portobello mushrooms, but the lunch menu didn’t have many options so I ordered the portobello reuben. And it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a while. The portobellos were sliced thin and absolutely smothered in sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and the equivalent of thousand island dressing. Taken together the flavors were absolutely amazing, and I couldn’t eat it quickly enough. Oh, and it was served on a pretzel roll.

Northeast Kingdom is surrounded by some amazing street art by the Bushwick Collective, which alone makes it worth the trip out to Bushwick. The food being good is a big plus. I really have to go back out for dinner.
